Story-Driven Wedding Films
A wedding film that feels like a short documentary about your relationship and the people who shaped it.
New for 2026, I’m introducing a limited number of documentary-style Story Films.
These films involve additional interviews and story development beyond the wedding day, creating a deeper documentary-style film about your relationship.
For 2026, I will create three Story Films total.
One has already been booked, leaving two remaining spots for the season.
Story Films of this depth are typically valued between $15,000–$20,000, but for 2026 couples the introductory investment is $8,000–$10,000.
A Different Kind of wedding Film
Most wedding films capture what happened.
A story-driven wedding film captures why it mattered.
Instead of simply documenting the timeline of the day, this approach weaves together cinematic footage, reflections from the people who know you best, and authentic moments from throughout the celebration.
The result is a film that feels less like a highlight reel and more like a short documentary about your relationship and the people who love you.
One of the most powerful parts of this process happens during the wedding itself — through something we call the Guided Story Booth.
Typical film length: 8–12 minutes
From the first conversation to the final frame, this process is led personally by Billy - no handoffs, no outsourcing, one filmmaker who knows your story from beginning to end.
How the Story Comes Together
Pre-Wedding
Before the wedding, we spend time understanding your story.
We talk through how you met, the moments that shaped your relationship, and the people who know your story best.
This discovery process helps guide the entire filmmaking approach so the wedding day coverage reflects the deeper story behind the celebration.
Wedding Day
On the wedding day, the story unfolds naturally.
Story-driven wedding films are captured by a three-person filmmaking team, allowing us to document the day from multiple perspectives while preserving the natural flow of the celebration.
• Billy leads the story and remains primarily with the bride throughout the day
• a second lead filmmaker focuses on the groom and his side of the day
• a third filmmaker captures atmosphere, details, family reactions, and key moments across the celebration while supporting audio, lighting, camera setups, and drone coverage.
During important moments - like the first look, portraits, and major parts of the day - the team of filmmakers work together to capture the couple from multiple perspectives.
This structure allows us to fully document the couple while also capturing the atmosphere, people, and moments that make the day meaningful.
Post-Wedding
After the wedding, the film is crafted through a narrative editing process.
Rather than simply arranging footage chronologically, the strongest emotional moments and reflections are woven together to shape the final story.
Audio from vows, ceremony, speeches, and guest reflections often become the narrative backbone of the film.
The Guided Story Booth
This is where the film becomes something special.
During cocktail hour or early reception, we create a relaxed interview space where guests can briefly share stories about the couple.
These are not formal interviews.
They are natural conversations guided by documentary-style questioning.
Because Billy regularly conducts narrative interviews and edits documentary work, these conversations focus on meaningful reflections rather than surface-level comments.
These voices often become the narrative thread that connects the entire film.
Pre-Wedding Couple Interviews
For couples who want to go deeper into the storytelling process, we can also capture sit-down interviews before the wedding.
These conversations allow the couple to reflect on their relationship in a calm setting without the time pressure of the wedding day.
This works especially well for:
multi-day wedding celebrations
destination weddings
couples who want a more documentary-style narrative
A Film That Becomes More Valuable Over Time
Years from now, the most meaningful parts of a wedding film are often the voices of the people who were there.
A story-driven wedding film preserves those voices alongside the visuals of the day.
The result is something that feels less like a wedding video and more like a personal documentary about your relationship and the people who surround it.
A Limited Offering
Because this process involves deeper storytelling, interviews, and narrative editing, only a limited number of story-driven films are produced each season.
The goal is to work with couples who are excited about creating something personal and meaningful.

Traditional wedding films primarily document the events of the day.
A story-driven film focuses on the people and relationships behind the wedding, weaving together reflections, moments, and cinematic footage into a narrative. -
Not at all. The Story Booth is designed to feel relaxed and optional.
Guests typically spend 2–3 minutes sharing a story or reflection during cocktail hour or early reception. -
Very little. During our pre-wedding conversation we simply identify the key people whose voices we want included in the story. The rest unfolds naturally during the celebration.
-
Story-driven wedding films are typically 10–12 minutes, allowing enough space to capture both the events of the day and the voices of the people who shape the story.
-
Yes. While the final film includes the most meaningful reflections woven into the story, couples can also choose to receive a full Story Booth edit that preserves every message and story shared by guests during the celebration.
Many couples love having this extended version because it becomes a time capsule of the voices, memories, and personalities of everyone who was there.
